Who are we and what do we do?!

JaredJeffery Photography officially launched March 30th, 2012, in Astoria, NY by,  actorchefeventmanagerdogownerartistcaterergamerandtattooedguy, Jared Johnston.  I started the company because I wanted a side project that allowed me to use my creativity to expand my ability to do something I love every day, and it has become one of my main focuses. As a teenager I always loved art and saw things in a cinematic way. Overly-dramatic is what some people called me.  In college, I got my own point-and-shoot camera and started to take what would amount to typical snapshots. With practice, and study, I have grown into the photographer you see today. Using my Canon DSLR and a host of fantastic glass, I find a way to capture not just what's happening, but the emotion behind the eyes or the moment.  I am constantly learning new techniques with every shoot. It makes me feel great when someone enjoys the finished product.  I love shooting everything from concerts, to corporate events, to headshots, to engagements, to weddings. Wherever and whenever I can shoot, I do. I've been in NYC for over 10 years, and I love it. Let's make some magic together.
